well im think about getting a digital camera and therefore would like to also use some memory sticks.

If im reading correctly, that memery slot will accept,
    - multi-media-card
    - secure digital
    - memory stick / pro?

If so can I assume that any brand will work?

    thanks...

Yup and yup. But beware, the memory slot has their limits, like some can read up to 1 GB SD

From what I've read in the past, most card readers, especially the one on the z70va, are shoddy at best and can fail at any instant. I suggest getting a cheap USB card reader so you don't have to use the card reader in any buying decisions. You can get one shipped for $3 at

You have nothing to lose. It will take two weeks to get to you but you should have time and I can vouch that it works. Don't buy the usb external enclosure though because that thing fails in 10 seconds. The usb reader takes SD, which is the most popular card format. No one really uses MS Stick as it is propriety and Sony more orless forces it down your throat with their products.

But are you sure it is smart media? Cause I never seen a camera with a smart media slot. What model is the camera?

I have the Z70va and have been having a problem with my reader on it. Problem has been with it reading xd cards. Now I think only Oly. and Fuji cameras use this so just an FYI. I ended up getting it to work again by putting in a SD card and it worked fine with it. When I put the xd back in. . no problem. Started working again. Anyway I've learned xd card can be flakey and maybe it wasn't the reader anyway. The whole ordeal gave me an excuse to go out and order a new camera. New toys are always good. Casio Z750 by the way. Supposed to be a nice camera. 7.2 mp
