I'm thinking to buy a W3V off a friend of mine. He's getting a new notebook so he's selling it to me.
Only thing is that, he've lost his receipt. Is the warranty still valid? Do I have to do any kind of transfer of ownership or something? He never register the notebook though.
Also, I want to add 1GB of ram in there. Can I do it myself or do I have to get it done by an authorized asus dealer?

Hope somebody can help me out. Thanks!

IF Asus knows that you added that extra 1GB of ram, you voided your warranty, if you do a search you will find this.

Hehe. I know what to do then.

    What about warranty without receipt?

You're not the original buyer and don't have that form id..... warranty is void unless you can get the person you're buying from to take care of any problems you run into.
