I just bought a G1s-A1 from Asus and had a question or two....

so, my idea was that i would use my laptop everywhere in the outside world (not literally but...) and then come back to my dorm and like plug it into a docking station (or port replicator) and use it like a full blown computer when im in the comfort of my dorm.

Now i have a 22" Acer screen as well as keyboard/mouse... the whole shabang (spelling?)... but.. my first question is.. if anyone here does use a docking station, do you mind sharing or recommending a good one that i could use? and my second question is if I do use a docking station, how much does that effect my gaming experience?

    thanks a bunch guys =)

you can use kensington, specs are on my sig. there is also a model with external vga port via usb. I don't think that that would effect gaming, I am ok with CS and NFS Carbon

I totally understand, I have one as well, but it's a the same idea. My V6 is attached to a USB cooler and a 7 port USB hub, there, it branches out to my 20" LCD, external keyboard, mouse, MP3 charger, speakers, printer, scanner, tablet, and still have 2 extra USB ports for anything else I need. It's pretty much complete, and it doesn't cost as much as a docking station. I wanted to invest in one but I realized it wouldn't help me that much.

hmm... im gonna look into the USB to VGA... but, sorry to sound paranoid, does that effect gaming? like is there a lag or loss of quality if i should choose that route?

and also, if a docking station says that the resolution is "1600x1500" does that mean my WSXGA+ (1680x1050) wont work properly or be distorted?
