Hey guys... I searched everywhere but haven't found an answer yet. I just recently purchased a Asus N61JQ and I have a question about hooking it up to an external monitor. My external monitor (Viewsonic VX2260wm) supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (1080p). When I hook it up via VGA, it works as it should. But when I hook it up via HDMI (my preferred method, since my VGA port on my monitor is normally occupied by my Xbox), the resolution isn't right.

It still detects that it's a 1920 x 1080 monitor... and it reports that that is what it is displaying it as, but it definitely is not. It doesn't fill up the entire monitor and it looks bad.

On the ATI CC settings, it is set as HDTV - 1080p... In Window's Screen Resolution it is set as 1920 x 1080.

Also, in the ATI CC, above the HDTV options there are the basic settings... but they only go up to 1680 x 1050.

I've tried different HDMI cables... the issue continues to persist. Also, it is set on Extended display. Although I have tried every other option (only display on the external, duplicate.. etc)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys

EDIT: Nevermind... found the fix: Uninstalled and reinstalled the ATI graphics drivers.... doh.
