Is there a 'hole' to put the microphone from your headset in? or is a mic built into the laptop?

So if I yell into my headset mic (while plugged into mic hole) then the built in mic reciever will get it as well and make echo? or interfereance?

From my understanding, there is a built-in mic hole AND a microphone out for you to plug in an external microphone.

That is how it should work anyway...... if all of the sound drivers weren't installed, it might not shut off as I believe it is controled via software.
Thanks,
