I was just wondering if there are any services that will upgrade you systems processor. I am very interested in this because i would like to upgrade my
w3j from yonah to merom. Is upgrading the cpu as easy as adding more ram and swapping out the hdd?

Upgrading the CPU is NOT as easy as upgrading RAM and hard drive. It involves a fair amount of disassembly as well as pulling the old processor out, first removing the old heatsink/heatpipe and cleaning all of the parts to remove the thermal grease. Then you have to carefully paste the new CPU and reassemble everything. It is not "impossible" but you should be very careful if you decide to attempt it. If I were you i'd wait. Is there any specific reason that you need 64-bit capability? If not why upgrade? It's not for the faint of heart & will void your warranty. I do remember reading about a company who would replace your processor here in the forums, but I don't remember the name. maybe a quick search would yield something.
