Hey all i've recently gotten the G2S-A1 and am loving it. Because of what I've read/seen about what heat can do to a computer and my baby is new and I want to take care of it I've become quite sensitive to its temperature. I've downloaded the program Speedfan at the suggestion of others and thus far it's working fine, however I'm only using it to monitor my temps., I've not programmed fan speeds etc.

To get to the point, I have three questions:

1.) Under readings when I look at my devices being monitored I see HDO, Temp1, Core0, Core1. I know what each of these is except for "Temp1" all I know is that it's "ACPI" can someone translate what that is for me?

2.) This "Temp1" is the main component that ever really gets very hot, it's usually below 50 C, but at times it gets over, the highest I've seen it was at 57 C but when I restarted my comp it immediately went below 50. Any explanation as to why this would be getting so hot?

3.) In Speedfan's warning it reccomends not to mess w/ fan settings etc. unless you know what you're doing. I, do not know what I'm doing when it comes to that. Can anyone explain how I should configure them i.e. What temps are dangerous and what speed should I set the fans to in order to take care of those high temps?

I would truly appreciate any help/reccomendations. Thanks in advance everyone.

ACPI is just the name for the technology that allows your OS to change fan settings, get temperature data, do power management, etc.

Whatever sensor is "temp1" I don't know, since I don't own the same model laptop as you. Usually an extra temperature sensor like that goes near a motherboard area that could get warm, like some major part of the chipset. Possibly? It shouldn't get that hot, though, then.

Hi i have a problem with speed fan also, my temp1 reading never changes, once the computer has the initial reading i thought that might be odd
    any ideas why?

is your temperature at 50 c at idle?
