    Hi,

What FPS would I get running Crysis on the M70VM (9600M GS 512MB) at 1280x800 with all settings to medium?

I've seen Ken's videos however he has settings at High with Shaders and Shadows set to Low or Medium or High. I want to know what setting everything to Medium would give for FPS at that (or similar res).

I'm guessing >30FPS but I would really like confirmation.

To put it into context I am considering an M70VM and I want to know that it will be able to run Crysis at >30FPS consistently. If it can do that at a reasonable res and medium settings - it "should" be able to play Far Cry 2 (you would think) and in principle then most other games.

    Kind regards

    Lee

Bumping this to the top. Someone with a 9600M GS must be playing Crysis!

Dont know ´bout crysis but far cry 2 runs perfectly on native res and some high settings but mostly medium. im guessing crysis will run the same way.

    my new gear is
    Aspire 6930
    GeForce 9600M GS 512DDR2
    Intel Core2Duo P7350
    3gigs ram

    hope this helps.

Crysis won't probably run at 30fps or above that, however it should be playable with all medium at near that resolution, something like 20+ fps.

Keep in mind Crysis is badly optimized and thus runs rather slower than it should. I played it on my 9500M GS at 1024x640 resolution, ell medium and ran well. the 9600GS is about 10-15% stronger, so it should run okay.

as reference, my current laptop cannot run crysis on high settings at native res well, I get between 16 to 20fps average haha. but medium rocks on.

a tip? Shadows, object details and shaders are the biggest problems for the GPU. shadows on low give a tremendous performance boost, but at the cost of basically no shadows in game.

the rest of the settings can be placed at medium-high as you please.
