    OK, these are easy.

    1. Yes, every system Asus has made since the start of centrino two years ago has had one (whether by dedicated hot key or Fn+ a button)

    2. To keep the integrity of your global warranty, you need to purchase the standard package. What you do with it after the fact is up to you.

    3. Asus is only bringing in the 6 cell at this time in the unit, and supposedly as an extra battery as well... The batteries should actually be coming in with the next shipment from Taiwan as I know the v6/w5 and w3 batteries are supposed to be showing up. I don't think the 9 cell battery is going to come here, however the S5's 9 cell battery is identical and in my opinion, better looking. The S5 is pearl and the battery is silver with pinstripes (really classy)... The W5 is a litte less pearly, but instead of a silver battery, it uses just a plain old white battery with no pinstriping..... in my opinion, it looks fine unless you've seen an S5... then it looks blah... so I'd use an S5's 9 cell.

    4. Asus has no intentions of bringing over the charcoal model to the states. Some may think it would come as a barebone model if it did (which they are probably right), but Asus has not expressed the desire to do so at this point, so it wouldn't be anytime soon if it did happen at some point.

    Thanks,
    Justin

6 hours would be a conservative number.

When did I say it would come with an extra battery?

    Thanks,

thanks for answering my question. i'm actully choosing between w3 and w5, i love the fact that w5 is 12", so i could carry it around, however, i've been reading around, is it really not good for eyes(i'm wearing glasses)? and i know ASUS has a program called POWER DIRECTOR, i'm doing video editing too, so is it a good program? and is 40GB enough for that. this is the first notebook i'm going to buy, so i'm kind of plan to use it for a long time. will w5 be that knid of notebook?
how's the fan on w5?(i read people have problems with their fan)[|)]

    thanks a lot

Oh -- what I meant by that is below.

the W5 has a 3/6/9 cell battery option.

The 6 cell is standard in the states.

I don't think a 3 cell will be coming, a 9 MIGHT, but they haven't brought any in yet.

When I said maybe also AS AN extra battery....... meaning that they may sell extra 6 cells as well. Like on the S5 right now, they have never offered extra 3 cells that you could buy in the silver for the S5........ only the black for the black s5/m5....

Thats all... it's not coming with two batteries or anything.

    Thanks,
    Justin

I believe what Justin means is that the US version of the W5 will come included with the 6 cell battery only and that an additional battery ("extra battery") can be purchased for the W5 (cell size was not specified)

Btw, does the batteries for the S5N work for the W5 as well, that was my interpretation that I got from your explaination Justin.
