Hi there,
I've enjoyed reading the posts on this forum the past several weeks. The views expressed here have been an invaluable part of my decision making process.
Towards that end, I'd like to ask a question.
I've more or less decided on two possible models--the Z33A or the W5A. A question on the former. Adding a 512 MB sodimm will up the total RAM to 768 MB, which invariably will help since the graphics chip is shared. Since it's 256 MB on board with a 512 MB stick, is this still dual channel eventhough the RAM sizes are different? In other words, would 256 by 256 be more efficient than 256 by 512? Also, since this is an ultra portable, will any run of the mill sodimm ddr2 400 be compatible? Or, is it a specialized kind of "micro" dimm?
Finally, I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could kindly share any insights they have on a compare and contrast between the Z33A vs the M5A. Of course, I'm privy to the obvious differences such as Ensemble vs Whitebook, and that the W5A has a higher resolution glossy widescreen.
Many thanks in advance!
