This may seem a strange (or even noobish) question, but still...

It turned out, that I need firewire in my laptop. How can I get one for W3j? Port replicator or...?
(Firewire is needed for camcoder to communicate with PC).

Port replicator? What for? W3 has FireWire port od the right side though 4-pin port.

No port replicator for the W series.

But if you have a 6-Pin Firewire then you'll need the port replicator. Hopefully you have the 4-pin.

For me personally on my video camera it's to a 6 pin so I'm looking into a converter or new cable. Luck with yours.

Can't you use one of those female 6-pin to male 4-pin adapters? Like the kind that used to allow early generation iPods compatible with PC FW (4-pin) ports? The extra two pins just supply power to the device, right? So if you have a power source for it, then wouldn't the adapter work?
