I'm having trouble getting an enquiry sent to milestonepc.com. So I was wondering if anyone here could help me with my question. I was cosidering purchasing an Asus, either W3J or W7J, but I couldn't find their returns policy anywhere, and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. And do they allow customized notebooks to be returned? Thank you.

yes, I know that dell ships to europe, but that web pages that sell asus are normally in united states or canada, and I don't know if they ship to europe.
One question, dell's cupons are also for spain or only for USA?

I've asked Milestone about UK shipping, which they will do. However you must watch that the laptop will probably attract custom's duties as you are shipping from outside the EU.

Also a few other things to note. The warranty for Asus North America seems to be one year global (while its 2 years in Europe).

The power supply will be different and the keyboard layout will be US style.

Finally the courier charges will be towards the steeper end (I reckon about US$100+) due to insurance.

Well, it will be better not to buy there unless I'm in the states. Thanks!! Do you know if there is another way to buy this kind of laptops, because I didn't see them here in spain.

I know the W7J is not out in the UK and won't be for a little while. I think it may be out in other parts of Europe though (possibly Germany).

The W3J should be out in Europe (it is for sure around in the UK). There are a couple of retailers in the UK which allow for a bit of customising of Asus laptops, namely nexus13 and asuslaptop.co.uk, however I don't know what their shipping rates to Spain would be. Also you have to remember if bought in the UK, it will be a UK keyboard layout and a different power supply.

I see. That's the problem of living in a country that all the material like this arrive later or don't come. Thanks for all!

Its been the same for me! I really like Asus, but they do not seem to be so strong in Europe (apart from, it seems, Germany). As a result we don't get all the latest and best Asus kit around.

For me, living where I do (in Jersey) there is also the shipping cost factor.

I did think about buying an Asus when I headed over to the states later on this year, but then the warranty, power supply, keyboard, customs duties issue made me decide against!

Yes, that's it the problem. The power supply is different? or the light connector? When I bought my acer in january I didn't know so much about asus, but know I see that is one of the best brands. Here in Barcelona (Spain) the laptop that is common in shops is te A6J sreies, not the 14" like w3j or w7j or A8j.
But what can I do? Nothing. The only way is going to another country and buying there or going to another brand.

Why are none of the other posts related to the guy's question? Way to COMPLETELY hijack the poor man's thread.

Terry: I don´t really know anything about MilestonePC´s return policy. But I do know that the people over there are really nice and helpful. Have you managed to send that inquiry to Milestone? If not, PM me with your questions and I´ll send them over. Hope that helps.

I can't say for MPC, but in most cases, there will be a restocking fee, if you opened it. Value for electronics depreciate alot, like 10%, once the box has been opened, so if you buy something for $2000, open it, don't like it, send it back, don't expect to get all your money back, because they can't sell an open box for the same price anymore, and taking a loss will hurt.
