I have an w3v, and was just trying to figure out how to record sound through the built in mic. I have the Audigy PCMCIA card. I've tried recording through the Creative Smart Recording program, as well as the Microsoft Sound Recorder. It seems that the microphone is disabled, because I can't record anything at all. I have checked the Sounds and Audio Devices through the control panel to make sure that the voice and sound recording devices were "HD front audio microphone". I have also checked the Creative speaker settings to make sure that the microphone isn't muted. Thanks alot! I can't figure this thing out!

This may be a longshot... but if you don't plug in the PCMCIA Audigy card, does the mic work?

to those who may have this problem in the future, the audio driver was the problem.
