Hey everyone, My Asus G50VT-X2 came in the mail yesterday and so far im loving it!, It runs all of the games that I have been wanting to play, but have also ran into a few problems.
When I am in ventrilo, my friends tell me that my "mic" quality sucks, and that my voice sounds muffled...Is there anyway to fix that or to just make it sound better?
Also, I went onto AIM and did a video chat with a friend and they couldnt even see me moving because it was only moving about 1 FPS.
Oh and, my external wireless Logitech mouse seems to lag or tweak randomly sometimes, not sure whats with that..It worked fine on my old laptop.
Any tips or info about these problems is appreciated!!
(Im not sure but should I have posted this in the main forum? if so I am sorry and hopefully a Moderator will move it, thanks)

I will move it
Welcome to the forums.
I don't know about the mic. Webcam, try reinstalling the drivers.
Don't know about the mouse. For lagging problems in general:
- update the BIOS to latest version on support.asus.com (209 I guess), also update the ATK drivers and utilities
- make sure it's not the synaptics drivers causing them
- try disabling the LEDs from blinking
Have a look at the Owners Lounge nearby, it contains a wealth of information about this laptop. -
Thank you!, I will look into all those fixes..
Also about the web/mic, is everyone elses really good quality? How would I install the drivers for them? Are they the one from the disks?
Also it seems like many on these boards including myself are having quite a bit of trouble with this laptop...If the messed up mic and webcam is just specific to my laptop and something i need to fix thats fine, but if the quality is pretty much bad on others also, and if the mouse lag (still hasnt stopped) stays, Im thinking I should return this laptop dont you all think?
Im not sure why many would stay with it? its 1350$ (i got it on sale) yet is a gold mine of trouble (from what im experiencing) can anyone claim anything better? Because I do not want to return it and would much rather fix these issues but it seems like many are dealing with them and no solutions are coming out -
Actually the lag problems have well-known solutions (those that I listed above, mainly). I have not seen many recurring reports of bad mike and camera (although there have been some problems reported).

Ahhh ok, thats good, so hopefully I can find a good fix for it, because I dont want to be paying 1350 for a crap mic and webcam...
and basically what I meant by my last post is, what is the reason to keep this laptop, what makes it so good? The only thing I can think of now (after owning it) is the graphics card and processor because it runs my games great, but not so much for general computing. If people would fill me in a bit hopefully it would make me feel better about keeping it
