    Update: As documented here: https://www.techpowerup.com/248827/...-push-software-into-your-windows-installation

Motherboards that have this feature enabled have an ACPI table exposed by UEFI to Windows 10, called "WPBT" or " Windows Platform Binary Table", which automatically triggers its' installation on new OS installations. This is similar to Lenovo's misuse of the same feature a while back, though Asus' solution seems to be a bit more polished.

    On HTG: https://www.howtogeek.com/226308/th...crapware-can-come-back-after-a-clean-install/

It seems that HP and Dell may have the same ACPI table present in some SKUs: https://seclists.org/bugtraq/2015/Aug/61
