If I pre order the F8 from excaliberpc, do they charge me now or when they ship the laptop out? Also, aren't the specs of the F8 not officially confirmed? What if we find out they are different than what excaliberpc says on their site? Lastly, if I preorder it I will definitely help get the laptop to me faster right? Any help appreciated, thanks.

I don't know about Excaliber, but Milestone is not going to process payment information until they have the notebooks in their warehouse.

Every retailer is different, some charges the CC, others don't until it's been shipped. You need to contact the dealer.

The F8 specs are not officially confirmed, so it can change. As for if its different, you should ask what options you have. But I know the reputable dealers will send an email stating the changes(in specs or prices) and give you options of what you can do.

Pre-ordering doesn't necessarily mean you can get it faster then allowed, since all dealers will have stock at the same time, if anything, probably a few hours faster.

MilestonePC's preorders are for $1699, and ExaliberPC's are for $1549, why such a price difference?

The MSRP is really $1599. MilestonePC... why!?

    ExcaliberPC is giving $50 off.

Wait, wouldn't it mean that ExcaliberPC is giving $150 off? afaik, the MSRP was supposed to be $1599.....Even if we get $100 off, it will still be more expensive than ExcaliberPC....

Yea, there is that too. But then the offer isn't nearly as good, since it will be pay MSRP and get a free hard drive. And if its the $30 discount only, then its not worth it at all....barely gets it to MSRP, much less the discounted Excaliber price....

Yep, I agree completely. I really hope that it is just a typo, but if it isn't.....I wait for Gentech or G2P.

    it probably is a typo
on a side note...when pre-ordering from Excaliber, select personal check as a payment method, that way you won't be charged till the laptop actually comes in and they notify you =]

Yes I'm fairly confident it's a typo. MPC wouldn't mark it up $100 when everyone else is giving discounts.

We just put a number there, can be adjusted when more news coming. Right now no confirmed specs and ETA, price might also change. Asus was trying to release F8 together with V2S, but because of more testing needs to be done on F8, it got delayed to somewhere next month, right now, no one in Asus can give a date of it, they cannot even say mid or early or late next month, just no answer.
