Hey guys, I am currently interested in the Asus W3J but I have a 2 questions about it

    1. If the laptop breaks down within the one year global warranty, do they repair it in the US? How long does it take usually?

    2. I visited a few laptop retailers today where they display W3Js that's been on for at least half a day (just showing the desktop) and notice that it gets pretty warm underneath. I plan to do some light gaming with the laptop and I don't want to burn it out, will the heat become a big issue in the long run?

If anyone could tell me what they didn't like about this laptop as well, that would be great =) Thanks~!

If you live in the US your laptop will be repaired in Fremont, CA. As for how long it takes, that can vary depending on your problem.

As for the heat, given that you have a x1600 in a 14'' you are inevitably going to encounter some heat. However I don't think it is significant enough to damage the computer or shorten its lifespan. The x1600 is a powerful card and light gaming isnt going to give it any problems. Just be sure that you don't block any vents.

The US repair center is very good, and has good turn around times. If you were to take it around the world, like the UK and if it were to break down there, then the UK repair center will deal with it.

As ray mentioned, depending on the problem, the turn around time can vary a lot.

For heat, I suggest monitor your temps constantly, don't block vents and clear the vents of lint, dus,t and hair every month with a can of compressed air.
