I'm looking to upgrade my X2 to Blu Ray, is it IDE or SATA? I can't seem to find any information on it at all![]()

Yes, it's a SATA interface. IDE is old technology now and I don't think any new laptops would use that anymore. I believe the one Asus uses is a Sony BC-5500S, but any 12.7mm blu-ray optical drive would work.

Isn't the orange trim a clip-on?

Yeah, the optical drive has a clip-on panel. It can easily be removed and used on another optical drive.

Careful about the location of the eject button though, it may not match. (I know because it didn't match for the older, IDE drive that I replaced on my M6BNe).
