Is the g50v the laptop with the 15.6 inch WXGA 3D Display? xoticpc doesnt make any mention of it. and when is the g71v (the one with the red) coming out?

The latest product update indicated that the G50V is going to have standard 15.4" display instead 15.6" which was used on the engineering sample we received from ASUS. G71V is scheduled to be released in September. Thanks!

Hey Excalibur do you have a rough estimate on the price of the G71 in US/CAN currency? Like how much more will it be compared to the G50?

If its between or under $2000-2100 in US/CAN I think i might wait for it. I like the screen size.

I went to best buy today and found the X1, the product description on it said 15.6 inch screen. I didn't have a measuring tape to actually measure it, but is it possible they have the 15.6 inch on the X1 model?

Yes the X1 is the 16:9 15.6" screen.

    The A1 & B1 use a higher resolution 16:10 display at 15.4"

Of the two the A1/B1 screen is much better for its stats/quality and resolution is better.

I am super curious as to where that engineering sample came from and how no other retailer/reseller in the world seems to have gotten one, and how front to back inside and out its just like the X1 model from best buy...

I'm hoping this bad boy is around $2000, then I'd get it over the G50. Hopefully the pricing information is avaiable by the end of this week.

Do you have reason to believe that the information will be in by the end of the week or are you just hoping?...and is there any ball park price...judging by the price of the G50/ the componenents used in the G71. I'd think that it'd be somewhat near the price of the G50 since the G70 is allready an expensive 17"...it doesn't seem to make sense for asus to put out two expesnive 17"s....any way i'm rambling on and likley not making sense... am i wrong to think/hope that the price of the G71 will be similar to the G50? the 1500-1600$ range?

Someone at ExcaliburPC estimated that it would be around $2000-2100.

Because of this I'm now skipping the G50v-a1 and waiting on the G71v, it's just barely within my price range. September can't come soon enough for me.

G71 is replacing the G2 so I would imagine the prices would be similar to the G2. The price should be around 1900-2100
