    Very small annoyance with the U36. I wish it would auto resume from sleep on opening the lid.

    I've gone through the BIOS tons of times to try to find this setting, as I know that the lid open is BIOS controlled, not OS controlled. Anyone find a way to make the laptop auto resume on lid open, or know of a way to modify/customize the BIOS to include this option?

    obviously its not the end of the world, but it is a nice feature to have.

    @eeisner

    You are right in assuming it's BIOS controlled, only one ASUS system I have ever seen has the option to resume on lid open, the U24E.

    never thought of having the lid open be auto disabled as a safety issue. very very interesting. it would be nice to give us the option, but not much we can do when the bios doesnt allow for it.

    its gotta be the bios as the os can only control hardware when the system is turned on. thats why we have a lid close option in windows, but not a lid open. and thats why allurgroceries saw that option in the bios settings, as posted above. as for the u24e being the only asus netbook with that option, im fairly sure the zenbooks resume on lid open as well.

    That would make sense if the UX models have the 'wake on lid open' option as well, since they were released around the same time, but I haven't seen their BIOS setup screens. I would be interested to know if they did. :)
