So I need a new laptop and have almost settled on the ASUS K52JC-B1. The one question I have is whether the touch pad is ribbed (has textured surface with bumps) as this feature really annoys me. Also any reviews would be nice. Thanks in advance

I just bought the K52jr and yes, it does have the ribbed/textured pad.
It's NOT that bad and it 'flows' nicely with the rest of the chassis.

Hmm thanks for the response. I probably am gonna get this anyway as I like everything else but I used a friends laptop that had this kind of touch pad and really didn't like it. Guess it will just have to take some getting used to.

I have a "RocketFish" (bestbuy brand) nano mouse I use externally. Works amazingly well and having the touchpad turned off saves me from moving the mouse when I type with the stupid chickelet keyboard. (I ALMOST bought a Lenovo laptop, as it had the "old" keyboard style. I hate chicklet keyboards!!)
