    Hello everyone!

Well I found an older 80GB harddrive, 5.4krpm (well it was from my ps3 actually) and I remembered my G50vt has two slots for HDD. Provided I get the metal clamp for the HDD, can I use this 80GB drive with my 320GB drive in RAID 0?

I was worried because the difference in speeds might cause problems.

oh! also, while checking my laptop's insides, I saw that the sticker on the CPU that says "warranty void if removed" is actually not... placed well so I can unscrew the thing without touching the sticker, so could I change the CPU and not void warranty or is there some sort of trap besides this?!

I want to mod my laptop soon too, push the 9800M to max levels, and put a nice CPU. Might as well check for compatibility with 260M GTX.

You should avoid using a drive that isn't identical in speed, and preferably in size if you are going to go RAID 0.

Aside from the obvious reasons, it is best to use 2 that are the exact same make and model. That will ensure they both spin at precisely the same speed so you won't encounter harmonic vibrations, which can be quite annoying.

Thanks for the info, I guess I will order a 320GB drive then. I want to test a bit of RAID 0 :p but I don't have the money to order a pair of SSD drives.

    I think I will upgrade my CPU too... perhaps a P8700 or a T9800

Anyone knows if there are 15.6 inch screens with 1600x900 res available?

If you have a lot of money to mod your lappy like that, why don't you just buy a better model? That will ensure you will not leave any spare parts uselessly.
