Hello, I'm new here and I'm glad to find this focused forum to share info about asus notebooks. I have 2 A7Jc notebooks, one running 2gb of the Nanya stock RAM and the other on 2gb of G Skill DDR2-667 5300. I've got the latest bios - 300.

I read through the FAQ and did a little searching but I didn't find much about editing the bios. Is there a combination to unlock the advanced bios settings?

If so, are there suggested timings for this setup?

Here are my cpuz caps -

If anyone can suggest way to access bios settings and timings I'll greatly appreciate it and I'll post the results here. I may also do comparison on those two systems (ram comparison obviously) because everything else is stock and I can compare side by side.

667 MHz notebook RAM will not run with any better latencies, and i don't think you can change the ones you have at the moment, because its not possible through the BIOS at all. If you wish to do a comparision, and you are comparing 533 Mhz and 667 MHz RAM, then they will perform practically the same. This si because the higher latency values on the 667 Mhz will offset the higher clockspeed on them, and this causes the same performance.

you could try using a windows based program to do it. something along the lines of ntune . that will allow you to change on the fly. just set it to startup with windows.
