Did they install Windows X64(64bit) or x86 (32bit)? The unit should have 64bit, but cowboom does wipe the HDDs.

OK, tho DXDIAG isn't the best place for that info. :) Control Panel... System and Security... System tab displays all that information. ( or rightclick Computer icon, Properties)

If it still shows only 2G and you are on Win 7 x64, then I would first physically look underneath and check to see the 3 memory modules are installed. (one is on the underside)

Next, I would update to the latest Intel INF package.

If none of this works, I would suggest a new fresh OS install, as some x86 HAL component may have installed.

yea i was going to do a fresh install so i can remove all the bloatware with the guide on this forum so ill try that and see how it goes,

another thing i noticed is that in CPU-Z, SPD TAB, Max Bandwidth box it only shows 667mhz is this supposed to be correct? its advertised at the site as 1333 mhz ddr3 ram. it says this for all 3 slots.

    667 x 2 (dual channel) = 1333 :) so yes it is correct.

so i did a fresh reformat with a 64bit windows 7 cd, reinstalled all the drivers and the ram still shows up as only 2gb, i checked the bios it says 6gb and CPU-Z says 6gb as well. in CPU-Z under the SPD tab it shows that 3 out of 4 slots have 2 gb ram.

i dont understand why this is happening!! getting so frustrated arghhh

Does the BIOS see all the RAM?

If so it's quite possible you have one of the bad memory slot problems which requires a motherboard replacement. Been there - so have several others.

You could try re-seating and/or rearranging the RAM modules if you haven't already, but from what I've read since this machine came out, the success rate doing this is low to none.

You can also try running MSCONFIG (Windows Key-R, type in msconfig, press Enter). Go to the MSCONFIG "boot" tab, click the "Advanced Options..." button and make sure the "Maximum memory" checkbox isn't checked.

yea the bios sees all 6 gigs it says 6000 mb of memory or something like that,

if its a faulty motherboard it wouldnt show up though right? it even shows up in the CPU-Z SPD tab, 3 out of 4 slots shows that the ram is installed

there's one slot that is hard to reach, however the other 2 are easy. Just open the underside lid.

The symptoms are: All the RAM shows up in BIOS but is not all recognized by Windows.

BTW, I'm not trying to be negative - hopefully yours is a simple fix. I'm just saying based on every G73 post here and a comment from one of the resellers here - it's a known problem on a small percentage of units...something having to do with a messed up RAM socket or sockets.
