    Hi,

Does anyone know if upgrading the RAM in my Asus A8JP will affec the Asus 2 year international warranty?

    Cheers

Well, on paper yes, but they've been fairly lenient in HD/RAM upgrades. But to be sure, if you ever need to warranty it or send it back for some reason, just put back the original pieces and you'll be fine.

Yeah... coriolis is right. If you do upgrade the RAM or hard drive, be sure to replace it with the original parts before sending it for service (if you ever have to)
If you break any warranty stickers (if any) though... you may be out of luck.

As long as the system goes back in to Asus like it came out of the box - there's no way for them to tell..... So, although you could probably leave your ram in the system, the big reason they want it out is because in the past they've had a lot of wasted time and freight charges because someone's ram stick that they installed after the fact was actually the problem stick...... so, if you know that, I'm sure you understand the rest.... But leaving it in isn't going to void your warranty - unless they find the problem was related to something you broke when you installed it or something like that... Regardless, I always say it's good to put it back to stock before sending it in.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. I'll keep the original sticks in case I ever have to send it in for warranty repair.
