I've just found out what a raid 0 is from my friends and have bought an extra harddrive to do so on my asus g50 laptop, but the problem i got is that i found out that i cant do a raid 0 in the bios since there is no option available. I was wondering if it is possible to do a raid 0 from getting a diff bios or if i can do a raid any other way? If so can someone point me in the right direction? Thanx

Windows 7 has a software-level RAID, but software RAID solutions are never anywhere near as good as a hardware RAID solution, and a BIOS update cannot add hardware-level support.

You can do RAID0 on the G50Vt. There is an option in the BIOS, or if not there, in the bootup sequence somewhere...still at work so I can't tell you exactly where it is.

I second Delta CT, though I don't know what it is either. I know it's a completely separate menu from the BIOS, however.

I have my G50Vt-A2 in Raid 0 in Ubuntu 9.04. I am not at home but you first have to enable an option in the bios to make the raid utility to boot up. When I get home later today, I will let you know.

It would be under the Advanced "tab", then select IDE Configuration, then SATA mode. This will give you the RAID utility as joeelmex has described.
