    just a question guys, i have an asus F9S with 8400m g, i send it back to asus would they fix the heat problem? i also have problems with my R key as it come times would get stuck

    They are all potentially defective. However, it's a bit like having the HIV virus. The right conditions are needed for it to become fatal. Thermal cycling (lots of big temperature changes) is what kills those nvidia CPUs which is why many manufacturers have released BIOS updates with more fan activity in order to keep the temperatures lower.

    I've had an 8600m graphics card die on my HP laptop but this still doesn't mean that they're all defective. A friend of mine, who has an identical machine has had no trouble with it so far. Though I have read articles saying that only certain batches are defective.

    It's a matter of luck I suppose...

    If you have overheating problems, then you should RMA your notebook. However, if you just want to replace your keyboard, you can cross-ship with Asus without going through the hassle of sending your entire notebook.

    lol that tread about asus vandulizing the dude's notebook is scaring me... i guess i will just send it in to check up the video card and the keyboard
