I have been having some problems with the version of XP which was installed n buying my notebook from ASUS. The main problem is the number of blue screens i will get for no real reason, it will just occur and Microsoft will have nothing much to say about each error message.
So my thoughts are that my version of XP is just unstable, because i have never had the number of errors with previous computers.
Either way i am wanting to re-install windows XP, but i have been looking into driver issues, things like Power4Gear and the ATi Catalyst Control Centre are not included within the disks given. On the ATi website, i have looked and tryed to re-download the Driver but they don't have a version for ASUS. Now other people must have re-installed windows, and i would like to know where i can get this software from. I have also searched for it on the ASUS website, to no avail.
Any help that you could give me would be of great value,
Thank You.

What version of XP are you installing? Home, Pro, Media center? Is it SP2?
Since you are having lots of blue screens that you cannot seem to find any solutions/answers to I would recommend you do a complete reinstall.
For this I recommend a few sites:
EBE's Guide to XP installation on ASUS machines
Tweakhound XP Installation
Tweakhound XP Supertweaks
As for the driver suggestions it would be helpful to know what laptop and different hardware/peripherals you have (Laptop model, GPU, HDD, External monitor, RAM, mice, etc).
Personally, I didn't like Power4Gear much and chose to use Notebook Hardware Control (NHC) instead.
If you have an ATI GPU the newest Omega drivers have worked extremely well for me. If the GPU is a mid range or higher card I also recommend ATI tray tools as opposed to the Catalyst control center, ATT is lighter weight and gives you a bit more control of the graphics card properties. ATT comes packaged with the Omega drivers.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help, I will most likely do that quite soon. Would it not just be fine, to just put the XP disk in, format then re-install, then just put the Driver and Utility disks in?
i have now added my Specs to my signature so you know.. -
If I were you, given BSODs I would not use modded drivers at all, but only the stock drivers that came with the computer.
