Alright. I've decided on the Z63A, as I don't really need the extra features of the W3V, and I'll save the extra $200 for something else.

I'm going with the following config:

    Pentium M 750 (1.86 Ghz)
    512 MB (1x512) DDR2-4200 (533Mhz) Ram
    60 GB, 5400 RPM HDD
    DVD/CD-RW combo
3 year warranty (extended 2 years from standard)

Does anybody see any problems with that setup or have any suggestions?

I plan on placing the order with Geared2Play.com within the next day or two. I'm going with them since I've read good things, they are fairly close to me location-wise, they offer a 15-day return policy (unless I read something wrong), and they are the cheapest seller that I could find with that exact configuration.

    Thanks for the help.
    -Brian

    Congrats on your setup

You should get a tad more ram, since the z63a takes memory from the RAM, but the z63a is one beauty!

    ^^

Yeah, I agree with you. But I think I'm going to do the 512 for now and then upgrade soon after I get the machine, since it'll be cheaper that way. That's also why I'm getting 512x1 rather than 256x2.

    Thanks.

Read their return policy. Most stores do have a return policy, but have a 15% or more restocking fee.

    Anyway, you'll love it!

looks like a good setup to me. I went with 512mb of RAM with my z63 and it runs beautifully. I'm not a power used though. Besides you can always add more RAM later. I did go with a DVD burner though since I doubt this thing can be fitted with an aftermarket burner, just a thought in case you ever want to burn DVD's down the road.

    ARGGGHHH...Now I'm not sure if I want the Z63A or the W3V.

I had decided that I didn't need the extra features of the W3V, but I'll probably be kicking myself down the road, since it's only a $180 difference after the rebate. And the extra 512MB ram chip, DVD burner, bluetooth, and ATI graphics are definitely worth the difference.

    :decision:

Dude, if you have doubts already, definately get the W3V.

i thought the rebate is over?
you may want to consider the chembook 2030 if you're into 14' wxga with a dedicated gpu. personally I'm having a hard time choosing between the z63 and 2030 for my next notebook.

Nope, the rebate got renewed. It's active again from July 20th-31st. So you still have about a week to buy.

Now I'm lookin at the Z70V, too. Trying to decide if I can deal with the matte screen and extra 0.5-1 pound for the better speakers and dedicated gpu.
