Does anyone have a problem with using iTunes with the RealTek HD Audio program? When I turn on iTunes, I get a message saying "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration". I have the RealTek program running in the system tray and when I right click on it, I have five options

    1. Sound Manager - Works
    2. Multimedia - Bring up the Sound and Audio Devices properties windows which show that I have Audio device nor can I adjust the device volume or the speaker setting
    3. Windows Media Player - Why is this here? Is this why I can't use iTunes? Because WMP is prefered by RealTek?
    4. Sound Recorder - Works
    5. Volume Control - Says that there are no active mixer device available (what?) and that I should install it.

    Thank you for any responses.

    I thought I posted the info. It's the M50SV-A1.

There's a yellow symbol for the RealTek Driver in the Device Manager windows. I'm trying to update it and or uninstall it and it keeps error-ing out. I've tried to install the latest R190 driver and it's errors out as well.

If i remember correctly, you have XP on your m50sv, correct?
I have the same config and itunes works flawlessly as well as the realtek program.
How are you uninstalling the driver? Make sure you do it through your device manager and make sure the realtek program isn't available in your "add/remove programs" in the control panel. Restart and install the driver from the CD.

OOOOh, I did uninstall through the "Add/Remove Programs" option. After reading around, I realize that I should uninstall the other audio driver as well. So I did. After I rebooted, the computer told me that I need to download something for my IDE something. I had a flash that perhaps I needed to install the updated RealTek driver. A couple of reboot and automatic driver update later, I opened iTunes, made it as the default player and relaxed as sound came out of the Altec Lansings
