A few days ago I installed the sp1 update and I have been fighting this ever since. I have a k50IN and after the update finished my usb 2 drivers were messed up. I reinstalled those and that works fine now, however, I have another problem. If I boot my computer up and log on the fn keys work, but are very laggy (like 10 sec between 1 notch of volume change). The weird part is that if I put the computer to sleep and wake it up they work fine just like normal before the sp1 install. I have tried this a million times and they only work if it goes to sleep and wakes up. I have reinstalled all the atk drivers and even the touch pad just for the heck of it and nothing solves this problem. please help!!! It is just really annoying at the moment because I always use the fn keys. Thanks for any help!

First off run a disk check
Check your hard disk for errors
How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk) - Windows 7

It sounds like some kind of ACPI problem. Do you have anything in device manager that has a red X or a yellow exclamation point?

If this didn't happen before SP1, it's going to be hard to recommend any sure fix but the last thing you want to hear (reinstall from scratch).

Alright I will give that a try, no the only yellow exclamation point I had was from the usb 2, and that is fixed now. I just find it real weird that it fixes itself or something changes from making the computer sleep... Thanks for the help, if anyone has any other ideas feel free to share.
