Which is better in this case?
    Using X64 Windows 7 with P7450 CPU

These 2 programs report different temperatures. HW Monitor shows the same as Everest though..

Tried Coretemp and it shows the same as Realtemp.

They both say the same temp for me.

Something is going bad then, maybe BIOS or driver bug? Core Temp shows same as Real Temp. But Everest and HWmonitor shows 10 degrees extra.

I think the lower temp is correct, I had a P8400 and it use to idle at around 40c

I believe the TJ max temperature is incorrect in Everest/HW Monitor. Because Realtemp/Core Temp have the true value 90 degrees C, i also believe the real temp is 45 degrees. Under full load it goes somewhere near 60 degrees. So it's fine in both cases.

I have the same processor, the tj maxx is indeed 90c

I'd say 45c is accurate, but programs sometimes mess up tj maxx, in this processors case anyway ( I had to sync 3 different tj maxx's to the correct one)

Mine runs around 37c after undervolt, and was around 45c before uv.

What the hec. I just tried realtemp and my temps are also 10C lower and look just like icsterm's. I have a G51. I've been using HWMonitor for like 2 years though when I first started monitoring my temperatures...

Why would it be different? And how would you know the realtemp ones are correct?

Edit: I just checked my M1530 and its T8300 is getting 36/36 on HWMonitor and 42/42 on realtemp..

Whereas on my G51, its P7350 is getting bout same as OP...55/55 on HWMonitor and 45/45 on realtemp..oh and on RMClock it says core clock is 39C...

So on my M1530, realtemp is giving higher temps but on my G51 realtemp is giving lower temps (3 different temps in total)...

    That just really confuses things..

Ok I just found out that the P7350's TJ Max should be 90C (like everyone has said) but on HWMonitor it's set at 100C. Because the temps are calculated based on the difference from the TJ Max, HWMonitor is giving a reading of 10C more.

My M1530's TJ Max is 105C meaning HWMonitor was giving a reading of 5C too low.

To fix, close HWMonitor, open hwmonitorw.ini with notepad and change the last line's 100.0 to 90.0 and reopen HWMonitor. You'll see the correct CPU temps based on the 90C TJ Max.

I have the same problem. That's normal, if u ready RealTemp documentation.
Intel knows that there is no accurate way to measure the processor temperature. In i7 core this is improved, but don't expect to get accurate temps.
But for GPU RealTemp and HWMonitor give me the same temp.
