Apparently Asus is putting out a rebate on all old systems as there are enough left to support it. There are $50 rebates on the A3 and A6 systems... but what's more important to this forum is there are $100 rebates on what's left of the V6va's and W3v's...

WOW!
The $100 rebate is AWESOME!
Awesome news! I'm guessing it will be similiar to the W3v ones a few months ago? -
And yet I STILL can't afford a V6Va
I want one SO BADLY I dreamt about touching one last night. My life is sad... -
anyone know if these rebates will be available in Canada too?
-
I just bought a V6Va a few days ago. Where can I find this rebate?

Sorry, the rebates are good for sales starting on Monday 3/6 and running until April 9th. It's not retroactive.

that's irritating... my notebook just shipped out yesterday, though I'm sure it's worth the 2K that I put into it. IPS screen =) photos coming

I'm sorry to that, perhaps the place you got it will allow you to return it.
Also, I'd like to correct a couple things... I gave slightly wrong information..
1. The $100 rebates are on the following: V6v/V6va/W3v/A3h/A3ac
2. The $50 rebates are on the following: A6v/A6vc
Also, the W5 and W2 rebates ran out today and although not as good as the old rebate, the W5ae will drop to $1,699 and the W2v will drop to $2,399.
Although most all of these models are safely out of our inventory at this point, we understand the rebates are attractive to a lot of people and we'll leave the models up for sale until the promotions are over and Asus has run out of inventory. Since we typcially receive orders from Asus 2-3 times a week, we'll be able to continue to ship these old models with only little to no extension on our normal processing and shipping schedule..
..... everyone wins at the end of a model year. At one end you have the end of something great which is not discounted, something new is already here, and Asus is getting rid of old stock..... it's a time to rejoice....
yeah yeah.. they're just rebates and new models.. I know. -

Sekhmet7, I don't know If they're going to renew it, but Canada has had a $100 rebate on the V6V/V6Va and W5ae for two weeks or so...unfortunetly, It expired today, or should I say yesterday (March 3rd!)
I just checked, It ran from Feb. 13th - March 3rd! Sorry you didn't hear about it sooner. If It's the W3V you're interested in...Canadacomputers seems to have 2 W3Vs with the much older spec of "Asus W3V Pentium M-750 (1.86GHz) 512MB DDR II 60GB ATI Radeon X600 DVD Dual+Dual Layer GB Lan 14" WXGA LCD 802.11g" in stock for only $1599 Canadian...which isn't too shabby...I'm holding out for the W3J myself.
Hope that helps
PS, I don't know why ASUS can't seem to run these rebates in-sync with one another, ie, all of North America...It would make things a lot simpler. It always seems that when the States has rebates Canada doesn't, and vice versa. Oh well, what can you do??? -

... They're two seperate regions now and Asus has seperated a lot more than just rebates.......
-
ProPortable, where will the rebate be available?? Will it be on Asus's site?

I have copies of the rebates that we'll link on our site... I don't know if they're there now or not, but I know that I'll make sure they're up for Monday.... I'll also link them in the news thread on this forum.

Ok.. cool.

I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that the rebate for the W3V will come north... CalibratedComa, thanks for pointing out that reseller. I saw that the other day actually, but they don't have the greatest feedback, so I'm hoping to be able to get it from a different store.

Oh yeah, the rebates are for Canadian's as well..... actually, the funny thing is they are for the same amounts, but in Canadian Dollars which is more like 85-90% of a US Dollar.... So technically you'll get less of a rebate. Talk to a Canadian shop like CanadaSys and request their rebate. We're not going to post both because we don't want to confuse our customers, but it's basically the same form.
