I apologize for asking a question that has undoubtedly been covered here before (just give me a link if so). How have people adjusted/optimized the Power4 Gear default settings for each run mode to their satisfaction? I don't know if the current setting for Timers and Timeouts are the best for normal usage or not. I am using a W3V and expect to spend 90% of my usage time in the Email/Office mode. Thanks!! Doug

in the task bar (down to your lower right).... right click on the powergear icon and select setup.

Thanks Justin, I appreciate that. I figured out where the setup is, I was more wondering if anyone had changed the values for particular timers. Doug

You really can't do much with Power4Gear. It's a neat piece of software, but Asus doesn't let you play with much (if not any) of its settings. I'm anal about optimizing any software's settings to fit my needs, and I find Power4Gear to completely fail in that respect.

I know this isn't what you're asking, but you may wish to check out Centrino Hardware Control.

Power4Gear MAINLY focuses on timeout settings, and I don't see why it's so important to have different timeout settings for different usage environments, when you can just have a single set of timeout settings in the Control Panel. I think more importantly would be controlling CPU speeds/voltages/fan speeds/HD speeds/etc. to suit the usage environment, which CHC does beautifully. The only drawback is that CHC cannot automatically adjust your LCD brightness.

But anyway, sorry for getting off topic if that's not what you're looking for.

I'd just brighten up the screen to where you like it. If you run into heavy work and the system seems sliggish.. set it on high performance..... otherwise you'll be saving some heat and battery life.
