My brother installed linux on the W3J (It was his at that time after all) so the MBR code that boots the recovery system is out.The recovery partition is completely intact.
I just wanted to know that : Is there a way to make the F9 key active once more.Changing the active partition didn't work.If the only way is restoring the MBR,can a W3J owner who has not touched their XP or one of the dealers take a copy of their MBR using this, zip it and attach it ? [Mine had Windows XP Home Edition].

Have you tried using the fixmbr command from the Windows recovery console?

Yeah, I just didn't know that fixing the mbr with a utility will make the reocvery console come back too.
