The upgrade thing that is happening soon in June, I was wondering because I am considering getting a G1 and waiting is not my strong point...

Is the G1 upgradable? (CPU, Video card, HDD, RAM)

If yes, will I be able to get it up to the same level of power as the June upgrade when I wish to?

If anyone could please answer that would really help me in deciding what do to :)

The important elements wouldn't be upgradable for you. The GPU in the G1 isn't upgradeable, and I don't believe the CPU is either; and of course, the upcoming G1 is a Santa Rosa-based system, so it is a whole new chipset.

So the only thing you could upgrade on the current G1 would be HDD and RAM.

In one word, no. The June update will see a new chipset(the 965M), which supports faster FSB(800 MHz, opposed to the current 667), and a new CPU for that chipset. It won't be backwards compatible. Also the Video card would probably a dx10 compatible card, and that wouldn't be upgradable too. Only the HDD,RAM could be upgraded.

Centrino Pro will have a whole new chipset and a whole new motherboard, so no.

The RAM may not even be upgradable, its currently PC5300, I wouldn't be surprised if it was PC6400.

Also, how much more powerful will this thing be? Enough to make it worth waiting?

You already know the ETA (you mentioned that you knew the upgrade was coming up in June).

As far as cost, no-one knows; but the expectation would be that the pricing would be similarity.

If it does have a GeForce 8600, and it is true that the GeForce 8600 Go is at least as powerful as the GeForce 7900GS Go (a GPU that is currently only available in 17" notebooks, and is more powerful than the GeForce Go 7700), then it should be significantly more powerful, and would almost certainly be worth waiting for unless you absolutely need a G1 right now.

No word about it, and if there was, it'd be under a NDA :p

Just wait, if you can. It's how technology works. Wait for something new, buy it, a few days later, its old technology, and you play the ignorant role of buyers remorse :p

I have no regrets of getting my G1 in March, but I think it's still neat to see what ASUS is going to throw into the Santa Rosa update. Hopefully, it will be a worthwhile update for those waiting.

Same here, bought mine full well knowing what was coming. No problem for me as my desktop handles alot of my more demanding games. However IMO if it is going to be your main gaming system then waiting for the DirectX 10 cards will probably be a wise move.
