Do I just go to the ASUS website and become a member. Then all I have to do is register the product and no further steps is needed? Because when I click on warranty extension on the side, it asks for my warranty contract/warranty password from my warranty card and I don't know what that is.

which warranty ext? for which model? the correct warranty ext package has all the instructions on it.

When I register a product, does it automatically register me for the 2 year global warranty?
-
Yes, but you'll need to mail your warranty card with a copy of your original invoice to activate the 1 year ADW (accidental damage warranty). Make sure you do that within 60 days of purchase or else you risk loosing your ADW.

Also, let say I send in my laptop to get repaired on Monday. When I receive the new unit, I still have the 2 year warranty right??? However, wouldn't the new unit have a different serial number?
