I recently purchased a U46E-RAL6 laptop. I want to reinstall Windows 7 to get rid of the bloatware. I have a copy of Windows 7-64 OEM from a desktop that I built. Will the OEM version work with my laptop by using the Windows code on my laptop, or does it need to be a retail version of Windows?

If both are same exact version on Win7, there should be no problem.
Thought physically otherwise may work, legally it should not be done.

Should work fine since this disc you already have doesn't sound like a manufacturer specific one. However, the advantages to downloading the ISOs that arrowslinger mentions are that you can get a Win 7 with SP1 built into it already so it saves you 1 less step when you are doing the OS install.

I went this route and the only thing is that you probably won't be able to activate online. You will get a message on the screen that you need to call for activation but it just involves reading a bunch of numbers to an automated system and entering in the numbers on your screen to activate. It takes 5 mins max.
