So as people who have seen my Proportable thread.. I just got my ASUS repaired and it came back with a new HD and just Windows installed. (They said they did not have the CDs any more -- and I sent them the laptop reformatted but with all the drivers installed - by a tech person at my university.)

So I am loading up the drivers from my CDs.

    My first query is:

I am in the midst of installing NERO which has a media player. I also have an ASUS CD to install to play the DVD player.

Are those two going to be in conflict? Or do they serve different purposes. Or do they overlap and which should I use?

You can have both installed, without conflict (I've got 4, I think, on mine). Pick which one you end up liking the best, and delete the other one, or keep them around for different purposes as I seem to have done.
