+1 super wicked machine except that logo on the front makes it look tacky!

Where did you get it from? Are you both USA based?

Doesn't look like much of a decal in the pic, if it is one (as opposed to painted on, which is the way it looks there).

Shy of scraping it off, you're looking at using organic solvents to dissolve the sticker (which would potentially make a mess of the painted cover underneath).

If it really bothers you that much (you bought it for the Eee after all), best suggestion would be treat it like palmrest stickers - try to scrape it off, then use something like windex or nail polish remover to get the rest of the adhesive away.

Looks like it was actually painted so your intuition serves you well, haha
I used a scraper and got most of it off to the point where its very very very faint. Would nail polish remover finish the job?

A brushed aluminum lid with nothing on it looks even better.

Be super careful with nail polish remover, it can get sticky to the point that it won't stop rubbing off for months... with metal it's a lot less dangerous but still can be a pain... You could try a solvent like goo gone (I know it's not a sticker... but it is a solvent) or something stronger. If you do get the logo off cleanly, please post pics!!! :D Good luck!

Edit: also if you're feeling saucy you can try the finest steel wool you can find, like 0000 grit but make sure to go in very small circles with almost no pressure or you will mess up the brushed finish

    Hi.

I heard that you can use a sugar cube as an extremely mild abrasive to remove provider logo`s from mobile phones, I wonder if it would work on a laptop?

I know it sound stupid but it`s supposed to work.

    Regards

    John.

If the lid is only metal with no paint (the colour comes from the metal only), you can use any solvent on it. The only bad thing for metals would be acids. Now there's no guarantee that the solvents will remove the paint, it depends on what the paint is. I'd personally start with something mild, like isopropanol, and then maybe try working up toward acetone.

How about a high quality stiff sticker? Some nice metallic backed image or logo? Easy, cheap, and won't ruin a sweet finish. my 2 cents..
