Hi guys I just wanted some help on how to remove bloatware for the new ASUS N53SV-A2 i've just purchased from the US. I'm using windows 7 premium but dont have the cd, is there any other way to reformat it to remove bloatware without the cd?

Also what should i do in terms of updating the notebook? Should i go on asus and download the drivers and the drivers for the nvidia 540m graphics card?

Also what is a good free anti-virus software.

Im a newbie with laptops and need your help. Thankyou.

    hi Chiemo,
Check out the second to top sticky post on the Asus page, it goes over bloatware etc on Asus computers. To do a clean install of Windows you will need a disc. You can use a friends or how ever you can get one as long as it Windows 7 Home premium. You can then use the keycode on the bottom of your Asus when Windows asks for it.

If you do a reformat you'll want to reinstall all the drivers again. Since this model is really new you'll probably have the most up to date drivers on the disc that came with it. If you'd like to get the most up to date jump on Asus.com and go under the support section to find the most current ones. You only need to do this if you do a clean install. If you keep the current OS installed i wouldn't even worry about doing that. I always say, if it's not broke, dont fix it.

Alot of people like Microsoft Security Essentials for their anti-virus. I use Avast! it's free and does a great job and very little overhead used.

Congrats on your new notebook, I really like the N53SV series.
