Ok...so I am afraid I have to send my F8sv to Asus...

I got it late december, nad lately it started showing bluescreen usually when moved - I thought hmm maybe its windows, so I reinstal it - but sthe same blue screen is still showing up...

I suspect its the harddrive, as it usually shows the bluescreen when pickd up from lower right side - where the harddrive is... Ive tried to open it and make sure nothing is loose - but its not.

Anyway - this sucks pretty bad as I need a computer everyday, and now I am facing the fact that I need to send it to be fixed...so here is the question:

From your experience - how long does the whole process of sending it to Asus and getting it back fixed usually take?

    Thanks,

    Kakoon

well i sent my laptop almost 3 weeks ago now. They say i will recieve it this week. It is annoying as i need it for my work. My problems where: LCD cover crack, LCD white blobs, CD tray not functioning, battery wear.
The reason for the long delay was because the components had to be imported. However it is a simple HDD swap, im sure they will have it done in a week or so

wow, thats a long time :|

personally, i have no first hand experience, but this might interest you. He was fortunate enough to get it back in a couple of hours. So if you live near the service center, take it there yourself and you might get it back the same day

It's been about a one (business)week turn around for everything I've ever RMAed to Asus. I chatted with the techs on Friday and today and they said my C90S should be on its way back tomorrow or the day after that. The weeks a killer though...I have an EeePC and an HP Pavillion dv1049cl (PenM 1.4Ghz, 1GB and really old a$$ Intel Graphics) and the EeePC has the better graphics for games :(

Depends where you are. It varies, as in some countries, ASUS's repair depots are companies that ASUS hired to do their repairs, fixes, etc. In North America, I know that the repair depots are run by ASUS so all the parts are in the warehouse and in stock, and the people know what they are doing.

I dropped off my laptop at a repair depot when the BIOs was corrupt(I think) and the HD's boot pririoty was messed up. Dropped it off on a Friday, I picked it up on Tuesday all fixed, plus they fixed my LCD inverter as well, apparently it was loose.
