    Repair/Disassembly Manual for Asus X52F-X2 and Bios Password Reset??

    Hi

    I am looking for a service manual for an Asus K52F. I found a closed thread here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/565776-repair-disassembly-manual-asus-x52f-x2.html which points to the The ASUS Info Booth. The link to the service manual is broken.

    I have a K52F with an unknown BIOS password and missing RAM, HD, DVD. I also have a complete K52F with a smashed screen. I want to make one good laptop out of the two.

    The one with the password is in better condition so I want to reset the password. The alternative is to swap the motherboard out. That is a major operation I want to avoid if possible.

    I have not found anything on the internet to say how to successfully reset the password on the K52F laptop.

    Does anyone have a valid link to the service manual?
    Has anyone successfully reset the BIOS password on a KF52F?

    Unfortunately its against NBR policies to talk about getting past a BIOS password. You could always try just pressing enter instead of entering a password, its works more often then you'd guess.
