Was given a "dead" X553m laptop that has 8G ram so thought $100 for a new screen was worth.
Installed and everything great.
The machine was originally taking to a repair depot that quoted them a price that wasn't worth it so I got it.
Unfortunately, the repair depot took the plastic screen hinge cover off (didn't need to) and for the life of me I can't figure how to snap it back it without superman powers possibly causing damage.
Every youtube video seems to ignore this part, (maybe because it easy and I'm having a brain fart) so I can't find online info.
Any help would be appreciated.

Does it have tabs? Can you see where they would lock in?
Could you upload a picture? -
Thank you for the reply and thank you for the proper forum switch.
It has a lot of tabs that match the body but there has to be a trick to it. I tried fro every direction trying to engage tabs but nothing.
I tried to take a picture but lighting is very bad on the black plastic making details very hard to see. -

Is it a single hinge cover that goes over the center of the screen, or is it individual hinge covers one one each side?
-
It is a single hinge cover that covers the end brackets.
I took a few pictures but hard to see.
Its a U plastic hinge with catch tabs etc. inside but I even tried a heat gun to soften it up to snap it in but no go.
I've seen videos of removing it by just prying one end up.
