    whenever i use my g50vt without having it plugged in, it drops down to ~20% in a matter of minutes. a little after that windows 7 shuts down.

    i read that this is because windwos 7 has some problem with the g50vt acpi drivers, and ive gotten the most recent ones from asus, but it hasnt fixed the problem.

    has anyone else been having this issue? has anyone found a fix?

    does it do the same on the stock vista install?

    could be your battery cells going bad, depending on how you took care of it.

    the laptop is only a year old... I usually just leave it plugged in. i didnt travel a whole lot with it until recently and thats when i noticed the "consider replacing your battery" error

    EDIT: it is a refurb.
    @VZX I'll try that

    A battery calibration is what you need. If you're still experiencing sudden drops of battery life, you will most probably need a battery replacement.

    EDIT: iwas reading about battery callibration, and it seems like the whole problem is the acpi drivers. where can i get the g50vt acpi drivers? asus didnt seem to have anything on their drivers page
