Hi there...
Anyone know where I can get a replacement fan for my noisy M5N? The thing has been noisy all it's life, and now it is starting to get a heck of a lot worse. I am fed up, and it is time to replace it.
I have used Speedfan, but the thing always seems to pick whatever value it wants when I restart the machine.
On another note, I have presently downgraded the chip to a Celeron-M 1.4 Ghz...I can't seem to change the multiplier or voltage. (I have tried Centrino Hardware Control, which just won't run, and have used Crystal CPUID, and SpeedswitchXP. Nothing works).
Has anyone been able to change the voltage and CPU speed on their M5N? Is it due to the Celeron chip?
Thanks in advance,
-M.

We have em. They are free just pay shipping if you didnt buy it here. I will need your old heatsink though. It has to be modded out. I would also contact your dealer. We took care of our customers with the mod well atleast the ones that complained. As a courtesy, Justin invented it. He will do it for you too but contact your dealer and demand their help if they will give it.

...Dealer here is a dud: says to go through manufacturer. Anyway, I may just take you up on your offer and try my luck with the customs and brokerage fees. (Sometimes you can get away with warranty-type stuff if you have the documentation). I'll contact you next week.
In the same vein: Do you have (or can you order) complete new heatsink/fan assemblies to replace the current unit?
Thanks,

Its a good question. Try calling asus. If they can send you the z33a fan that will solve your issue without any mods. I am almost positive the z33 and m5n heatsinks are the same. Justin?
