Hello, i have an Asus U56E-XR2 laptop and i would like to replace the wireless card with an Intel one that would make the laptop WiDi capable.
My question is , can this be done on my particular laptop? If so, how can i do this? Thanks in advance :)

Can it be done, yes, will it be easy, it depends on how easy it is to access the wireless adapter. If there is a panel at the bottom of the laptop that you can remove, then i'd open it up and look for the wireless adapter. If you have access to it, then it'll be an easy swap.

I recently changed my AzureWave AW-NB037H Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n plus Bluetooth 3.0+HS combo card for an Intel 6230 wifi/bt wireless card.

    DO THIS FIRST:

Download the drivers and utilities for BOTH of your wireless cards (Intel, Atheros, etc.) before proceeding.

    1. Uninstall all the original drivers and utilities for your old card first. Also uninstall Wireless Console 3.
    2. Replace the old card with the new Intel card. Make sure you have enough antennas for antenna connectors (2x2, 3x3).
    3. Then, install the new Intel drivers and utilities for bluetooth, wifi, & Widi. There will be an .exe or install for Widi, bt, and Wifi/My wifi.
    4. Finally, you can finish by installing "Wireless Console 3" from Asus Support so that your keyboard wireless-shortcut works correctly using the fn button.
