Let's say the F6V has "2 x SODIMM socket of DDR2 800 MHz SDRAM", and I want to replace it with "OCZ (OCZ3M13334GK) DDR3 PC3-10666 1333 MHz SODIMM 4GB (2x2048MB) Kit". Do I need to check if the MOBO is able to support it? I went to Asus.com to look for information on its spec. It didn't say much. I am not even sure if it will support the latest DDR3 rams with 1333 MHz... Does this mean if I upgrade it to the new RAMs, the chances are my battery will be drained?

I'm pretty sure that DDR2 slots are not compatible with DDR3 RAM. I could be wrong, though.

DDR3 and DDR2 are not compatible with each other. (204-pin vs 200-pin)
    Sockets are different....
