Does anyone know of a nice guide to buying Asus notebooks? Or perhaps someone with Asus purchasing experience could write a guide, maybe it could be make a sticky. I have gleaned from reading about Asus that they don't directly sell their laptops, but you must buy either a barebones or from third-party companies that assemble and sell them. I love the pics of the Asus 'tops I've seen, and the reviews are overwhelmingly good, I just don't know where or how to go about buying one. It's hard to tell if any old online retailer is reputable, you know. I appreciate any responses.

I just ordered an Asus Z63A (basically the W3V without a dedicated video card) from www.geared2play.com , and so far the experience has been wonderful. They are very easy to get ahold of (aim, email, phone), and are most helpful. On top of that, their prices, at least for the Z63A, are really cheap.
I have also heard nothing but good things about www.proportable.com (the head guy is a forum regular here apparently) and one other store, the name who escapes me...something like isntc.com or ictns.com... -
The three stores I'd recommend, and it's not in ANY order, check em all out are:
www.istnc.com
www.geared2play.com
www.proportable.com -
My W3V came from Justin @ Proportable and he is really good guy to work with. I would give him a shout and see whats up.
