    I have a ASUS F3JP AP089P.
I have just upgraded the Ram (2Gb to 3Gb) and HDD (120Gb to 500Gb).
Asus Support copied the Recovery files to the hidden partition in the new HDD.

I have read in some forums that F3JP does support 500GB HDD but it seems like the Recovery setup has some limitations to the maximum size of a partition.

The options in the Recovery menu are
    1. Reboot to Win XP
    2. Recover Win XP to first partition only.
    3. Recover Win XP to entire Hard Disk.
    4. Recover Win XP to entire Hard Disk with 2 partition.

Asus Support had setup the new HDD with 2 partitions (256GB, 180GB and 25GB of unallocated space) in NTFS format.

I am not particular if the HDD has one or 2 partitions as long as one partition is at least 350GB in size. So I ran the recovery setup again thinking if I selected option 4 (recover Win XP to entire Hard Disk) I will get one partition for the entire HDD (at least 450 GB). However this is not the case, only one partition (256 GB) was created.

Can someone please advise me if I can resize the partition (make it bigger) with XP or a third party software (please recommend a good one). Most importantly, will the Asus F3JP (AP089P) be able to recognise and support the resized /bigger partition(s)?

I want to load an application and related database in the HDD to self train myself on a software product. Minimum HDD requirements just to load both is 250Gb. I am allowing more space for future requirements and growth as I play with the application.

I have spent so much time researching, upgrading and re-installing the laptop (several times) I feel like I am not getting anyway at all. Without resizing the HDD I cannot achieve my goal.

    Please help.
